CHC Submits Comments on Infill Guidelines 2nd Draft

Following a broad-based dialogue among CHC’s Policy Leadership Task Force last week, today CHC submitted a second set of comments to the revised ‘draft’ guidelines for the Infill Development Set-Aside issued by the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) on January 29th. A $240MM Notice of Funding for this program is expected to be issued by HCD in February with allocation awards scheduled for June.

HCD Releases TOD NOFA Application and Announces TOD and Infill Workshops

HCD Releases Final TOD Guidelines and NOFA

The final Transit-Oriented Development funding guidelines and Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) in the amount of $95 million are now posted on the website of the California Department of Housing and Community Development.  Applications for the NOFA will be due March 7, 2008 with funding awards to be made by June 2008.

CHC Submits Comments on TOD and Brownfield Remediation Programs, to Hold Infill Roundtable

The California Housing Consortium has just submitted comments on HCD's second draft of the Transit-Oriented Development Housing Program Guidelines and on the CALReUSE Expansion which will fund brownfield remediation for housing.  Copies of these letters are attached below.  Thank you to everyone who participated in crafting these comments.  More information on these programs can be found at www.hcd.ca.gov/fa/tod/ and www.treasurer.ca.gov/cpcfa/ respectively.

Governor Schwarzenegger Signs Many (and Vetoes Some) Housing-Related Bills - Expanded

The Governor had until Sunday to sign or veto the bills on his desk from this year's legislative session.  He addressed many of the Housing bills at the last minute.  Below is a summary of his actions on bills CHC has been following this year:

Signed

AB 641 (Torrico) Developer Fees.  Defers fees for public improvements for the affordable homes in a residential development in which at least 49% of the homes are reserved for lower income households.  Fees are deferred until leasing begins

SCHWARZENEGGER ANNOUNCES $9 BILLION WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PROPOSAL
