CHC Holds Stakeholder Meeting with Department of HCD on Infill Guidelines

Please find attached CHC's Memo summarizing the input and discussion from the CHC Infill Set-Aside Stakeholders’ Meeting held on Tuesday, November 6, at the offices of (CHC Member) City of San Jose Department of Housing.  CHC is very grateful for the presence of HCD’s Deputy Director, Chris Westlake, Policy Director Russ Schmunk, and Multi-Family Housing Manager Eugene Lee.  We also appreciate the participation of (25) CHC members across the private, non-profit, and public sectors of the housing industry from Northern and Southern California.

With public hearings complete and on the heels of this stakeholders’ meeting, HCD plans on issuing draft guidelines for the $850MM Infill Development Set-Aside in the next few weeks.  Response received during a December public comment period will enable the Department to refine the guidelines in order to issue a NOFA in January.  HCD Director Lynn Jacobs has committed to allocating $240MM of this infill development set-aside as housing-related infrastructure grants by June 2008.

We will provide coordinated CHC comments on the upcoming ‘draft’ guidelines and, as always, welcome your input.
