CHC Comments on Draft HCD Infill Infrastructure Guidelines

On December 26, 2007 the Department of Housing and Community Development released the long-awaited draft guidelines for the $850MM Infill Development Program.  The guidelines and supporting materials can be found at www.hcd.ca.gov/fa/iig/ . 

CHC has submitted comments to HCD drafted through our Policy Leadership Taskforce.   CHC's comments and concerns are across five areas: Project Size, Affordability Criteria, Eligible Applicants, Eligible costs, and Prevailing wages.  Please see the attached letter for our detailed comments. 

This comment letter is one of dozens being received by housing advocates around the state.  HCD has committed to issuing revised guidelines on January 24 for additional comment.  We are urging the department to not rush into a NOFA before consensus is reached on all recommendations.
