Completed in fall 2007, Auburn Park is a 69-unit affordable family housing complex featuring studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. CHC member Affirmed Housing Group partnered with the City of San Diego Redevelopment Agency (CCDC) to create this safe and resourceful environment for low-income families.

Located in the area known as City Heights, the housing development is designed for very low- and low-income families earning from 30 to 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI). Auburn Park’s sustainable energy systems save thousands of dollars a year in energy costs. With alternative energy sources, a community meeting room for civic involvement, and a half-acre privately maintained public community pocket park, Auburn Park is a service to the environment and to the community. The complex features amenities including free high-speed Internet in each unit. Internet access is also provided in the Resident Computer Learning Center, helping bridge the digital divide for those without computers. The $22,419,903 project is near schools, public transportation, shops, public parks, and a medical clinic.
Less than a year after opening, the 69-unit family housing complex received Project of the Year by the San Diego Housing Federation and is now at capacity.
