CHC Letter to Congress in Support of LIHTC Provisions

As you know, the affordable housing industry has been providing its input into the crafting of the upcoming Economic Stimulus Bill to ensure that it includes provisions that will aid the continued use of Low Income Housing Tax Credits.  Attached is a letter that CHC sent to key legislators in both the House and Senate.  You may want to use it as a template to craft your own letter to send to your representatives. In addition, you may want to contact the following members of Congress: Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, and Barbara Boxer, as well as Chris Dodd, Barbara Lee, Patty Murray, Dave Obey, Jack Reed, Harry Reid, and Pete Stark. Our understanding is that the House Bill will be marked-up this THURSDAY.  As a consequence, time is of the essence.

Please e-mail or fax your letter in the next 24 hours and send us a copy (at info@calhsng.org) as well. You can e-mail your state’s government officials through www.congress.org. Fill in your zip code in the My Elected Officials section and you will be taken to the page for your state. Links to the pages for individual government officials are provided. Once you access the page for the official you want to contact, instructions for sending a message to that person are provided in the Contact section of their web page.
